“Water Works”
Mon 8th Sept, Well Yard 3-6.30pm
What’s water for? 75% of our own bodies? Growing plants with? Swimming in? Flushing? And what’s a water-meadow? How are we to manage our water for our houses, our gardens and our wildlife?
All (perhaps just nearly all) will be revealed. And we’ll set up a water-feature too at each place.
The site is at the bottom of Well Yard, Old Kingshorpe. Its down a drive that acts as a cutting between 2 houses -
there's a paddock with horses in on he right. Keep walking along the fence line and then turn left you will see and hear us and I'll put a sign on a post to give a bit of direction hopefully
Thanks Susan
SCE changes
SCE changes... Just So's you know: We're now hard at work with Jo at Well Yard in Kingsthorpe, a place of peace, ponds, herbs and wildlife. Be in touch to know more. Every week we have the delight of working with (and for the children at Child First, a nursery in the Moulton Leys area.We look after the general very wooded environment, and grow with the children (organically you may be Sure) ford that they can harvest and eat. So some of the next generation may be a little less daft than our present one, and equally delightfully, we have been invited to work with that other co-operative Leaf Cycles. an old long-established box Scheme of organic fruit and veg delivered to the door, costing the earth only to the extent that Carbon emissions can begot out of bicycles. (so not much then.) What's new is that now SCE Supplies them with local herbs, veg and fruit to join their other Offerings. So ever less food miles! That's nice.
We work 'off' or Sites as well: Now this involves also orchards in both Duston and out in the Countryside. So or apple juices will be further improved - is that possible? - and Leaf Cycles will have even amore local fruit to offer. All helped in due course by our new Lodge Orchard in Abington and one we hope to plant at Glebeland Fields, the SCE Community Allotment site (Mondays) in Kings Heath.
Want to help us out there? It may be a horrible old world outsideNorthampton, but there's some good things happening in it.
Spread the word, why not? Reclaim the future Tell folk: Enjoy good health. Get involved. Lovely.
