Long Park.

Boughton Lane Pocket is a mile long wildlife area lying beside Boughton Lane (also called 'Long Park'). Our major task there is keeping the long pathway passable. This involves  among other things tree safety work and mowing. We run occasional events there too, such as 'Darke of the Parke' at Halloween, Wild-food picnics, and (e.g.) Plant-gall Identification courses.

From the out of town direction along the Kettering rd., turn left at the Lumbertubs roundabout; go under the bridge and a bit further. You can park in Cottingham Drive (a turning on the right). Boughton Lane's a busy road but re-cross it on foot, and find the opening in the high hedgerow along a tarmac path. Immediately turn left in behind the hedge and you are at the start of the mile. back to Monthly News
