SCE Events, August 2008.
Sat 2nd Aug, Bridge Farm Open Day, Snitterby Carr, 2-5pm
If your interested in organic farming and smallholding make time
to visit an organic farm in which we are actively involved in. The
farm is in Lincolnshire and to make the journey worthwhile on the
day there will be stalls, displays and produce for sale besides
saying hello to newcomer goats Barney and Freddie.
Fri 8th Aug Honey & Bumbles Bees, Abington Lodge 7.15-9pm
Bumblebees are the ones that don’t make honey – or do they?
That and many other mysteries of these flying wonders,
honeybees or other bees, will be investigated, even how a hive
works and can be made. There could be ‘honey for tea’ so ask us
about our BEEKEEPING. You could help us with them if you like –
but honey comes later!
Thurs 14th Aug Roundhouse & Permaculture, Hunthe Garden 10-4pm
This event is also linked to Thursday 28th Aug.
An intoduction to permaculture in action. We will get our hands
in action by working the soil and by continuing the building of the
round house – heard of cob and cordwood wall buiding? Learn
what it is with Chris. Bring your wellies.
Weds 27th Aug Late Summer Prune , Wilsons’ Orchard 4-6pm
Got some older fruit trees or even young ones and don’t know how
to summer prune them and want to learn? Please bring your own
secateurs (though we will have some spares)
